What is a Shale Shaker?

Shale shaker is the first grade of solids control equipment, which is used to separate big solids with diameter above 75μm.

Shale Shaker working principle:

Through mechanical vibration, shale shaker will separate solids larger than the mesh hole, and the solids smaller than the mesh hole but were stick together through interaction between particles. When the drilling fluids flow through the vibrating screen surface, large solids will discharge from the end of screen, drilling fluids with solids smaller than the mesh will flow through the screen into the circulating system. So as to complete the separation of the larger solid phase particles. 

Shale shaker includes the following components:

Base

Sieve box
Screen cloth tension system
Vibration motor
AWD angle adjustment system
Electric system
Locking device

Feeder 

Main advantage of Shale shaker:

1. Due to the strong vibration of the straining box, material plugging mesh is reduced, which make shale shaker screen more efficient and productive;

2. Simple structure, easy to replace screen;

3. Less electricity to screen material per ton.
